Jordan is one of the Middle East’s most competitive telecoms markets. In a population of less than six million inhabitants at the end of 2007, the country counts three GSM operators and one iDEN player. The national regulator, the TRC, prides itself with driving
competition and innovation in the market, though in some respects the licensed operators believe the level of liberalisation has perhaps gone too far and is distorting the efficient operation of the market.
