Jordan and Pakistan are set to soon have access to wi-tribe, a portable wireless modem that uses WiMAX technology to deliver broadband Internet access without a fixed telephone line.
Wi-tribe aims to be an emerging broadband wireless access (BWA) provider in markets spanning from Africa across the Middle East and into Asia.
The company was formed in April 2007, as a product of a joint venture between Qatar Telecom (Qtel) and the A.A. Turki Corporate Trading and Contracting (ATCO), together with a partnership with Clearwire.
