Internet service degradation due to cable cut, says Du

UAE telco Du issued a statement alerting its customers to a degradation of Internet services as a result of an international submarine cable cut that occurred on March 23, affecting Internet users across the entire region including the UAE.

Du assured customers that it has taken immediate action to ease the situation by re-routing its traffic over other available links. However, customers will continue to face bandwidth degradation and longer connection times. Performance is expected to go back to more normal levels within the coming few days according to the cable operators.
