Du passes two million subscriber milestone

UAE operator du has announced it has exceeded two million customers within 15 months of the launch of mobile services. CEO Osman Sultan stated the result was an important milestone that showed du had brought real competition to the local market, and the main focus in the future was to continue providing more innovative services to its customers.

Farid Faraidooni, EVP commercial, also said the operator will expand its retail network across the UAE to be more accessible to its customers.

“This achievement has spurred us on to greater heights,” Faraidooni commented. “Our customers, both enterprise and consumer, can look forward to more innovative products and services from du, which will increase their convenience and comfort.” Sultan confirmed that du would continue to publish numbers of active subscribers on a quarterly basis, in line the with Telecommunications Regulatory Authority’s policy.

An active subscriber is considered a mobile customer who has completed a billable action within in the last 90 days.
