Keith Read, BT Group’s director of regulatory compliance is calling upon Middle East-based telecoms operators to take a more proactive approach towards regulatory compliance during today’s Strategic Telecoms Summit at the MECOM exhibition.

Read will be speaking at the session at 2:30pm, entitled ‘BT’s Regulatory Compliance Challenge’. Read will outline an approach to create a regulatory compliance strategy that addresses the Middle East’s changing telecoms landscape, as well as deliver insight on how to develop and manage more productive relationships with telecoms regulators in the region and abroad.

The session will cover the challenge of change in the regulatory and compliance environments, how to develop and deliver a comprehensive strategy, the tools and techniques to tackle the compliance challenge, as well as the penalties for failure.

Mark Wardle, BT’s VP of Innovation Programmes, is also set to reveal the results of an independent survey that BT commissioned in 2008, which captures the shifts in the outsourced and managed services market shown during the last four years.

According to BT, drivers for outsourcing and managed services in the telecommunications industry have evolved dramatically over the last few years and understanding this dynamic and challenging market is key to continued business growth and competitiveness.
