Appeal of IPTV in Jordan questioned

Orange Jordan is in the process of launching its IPTV service, though the commercial viability of such an undertaking is uncertain given the number of broadband accounts in the country.

“We are preparing to launch IPTV soon in Jordan, and one of the things we are looking at is how to price it in the face of free content availability,” commented Orange Jordan CEO Mickael Ghossein recently.

As of March 2008, there were around 100,000 ADSL subscribers in Jordan.
