In a move that looks to emulate Zain’s ‘One Network’, Bahrain mobile operator Batelco launched its World Freedom network on September 25, allowing users to roam in 21 countries without paying to receive incoming calls.
Currently, Batelco’s mobile users make and receive calls, send and receive text messages and enjoy other services through commercial roaming agreements with more than 400 mobile operators around the world.
The incoming calls charged at no additional cost will be available to customers travelling to Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Iraq, Algeria, Sudan, Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Mozambique, Albania, Armenia, Bosnia, Croatia, Estonia, Georgia, Moldova, Norway, Luxemburg, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia.
