Du subscribers now have access to 21 mobile TV channels direct from their handset
UAE operator du has launched new mobile TV channels, offering its customers access to 21 new channels including exclusive episodes of popular Emirati animated show ‘Freej’ direct to their 3G phones, as well as customised international, Asian and Bollywood music channels.
A ‘pay per view’ service is also on offer for the first time in the UAE, which allows subscribers to select and view from a selection of episodes and video clips.
Osman Sultan, CEO of du, said the enhanced mobile TV testifies to du’s commitment of combining communication services with flexibility and competitiveness.
“Customers now have more flexible tariff plan options, where they can either subscribe to all channels or just a single channel of choice,” Sultan stated.
“To top it up, we have also introduced new TV channels as part of the package, such as Al Arabiya, MBC, Dubai TV, Sama Dubai, Rotana, Kairali, Zee TV, ABS CBN Channel 2 amongst other customised channels to meet the demands of the Western, Asian and Arab subscribers.”
Customers can pay a fixed monthly fee of AED80 (US$22) and have access to all 21 channels or pay AED10 for access to only one channel. Channel offerings include news, business, drama, music and cartoons.
